At grass roots level members regularly ride circuit races at Westpoint, Exeter; Odd Down, near Bath and Dunkeswell, Honiton. Aspiring new racers have no shortage of support and are backed by the clubs four British Cycling accredited coaches.
The club also supports riders who wish to take part in track races, helping with advice and coaching with trips to Newport Velodrome; currently the nearest available track to us.
There is a full season of races in the South West, with full details being in the British Cycling website.
Riders compete in categorised racing based on ability and experience, from Elite (professional level), through categories 1 – 4; category 4 being for beginners. Riders win points in races allowing them to progress up the standings as they gain experience and fitness.
Youth categories start at under eight and progress in two year bands up to under 16s.
